Switzerland - August 2006

Cool pics! Beautiful country. I remember when I was in Milton Keynes, England, taking the train into London. We always passed this circular ring of stone that looked a little out of place. One day when we went by there were some kids playing soccer in it. I asked my British co-workers if they knew what it was, and they very non-chalantly said that it was a Roman fort. I about dropped my teeth. I said, "This is history! It's ancient! It should be cordoned off and preserved!" They just looked at me and said, "Mate, you can't spit over here without hitting some Roman wall, or a fort, or a road, or something. It's no big deal." At that point I remembered that these people went to church every week in buildings older than my country, and I realized that it's all a matter of perspective.
